Configuring Cloud Storage

About

The menu is at Administer | Media Management | Cloud Storage

There are two tabs on the Cloud Storage option.  One is a list of all files and folders that are maintained on the drive for that race.

The other tab is a Config tab.  The configuration allows for setting up the initial folders for the race by using the “Publish Folders” button.

Prior to your event, you need to make sure that all divisions are setup properly.  This includes the scoring and age group options.  These pages are in the division setup on the website and should match your Jaguar configuration.

On the config tab is a button labeled “Publish Files”.  If you select this, it will create the entire tree structure and all files for the event.  This includes the division, age group and database files.

One files have been published, you can configure Jaguar.

First operation is to sync the folder with Google Drive.  On your laptop is an icon for Google Drive.  Click on that icon and choose preferences.   You can then tell it to sync with the folder for the particular event.

Open up Jaguar and go to Edit | Default Settings

Select the “Load Settings” button and browse to the default settings file for your race.  It will be in the form of YYYY-MM-DD_RaceName_defaults.txt.

You will then get a popup asking if you want to load the files and scheduler options.  Select Yes.

Once the files have been loaded, then go through your config options and make sure that all of the appropriate options you need for your race have been set.   DO NOT change the name of any files.  There is a direct relationship now between google drive and the website.  Changing any file names can cause problems.

One you have made the appropriate changes, then save your defaults.

Prior to the race, use the Publish data from the Cloud Storage menu option.  This will update the database stored on Google Drive.  The laptop should sync this file and provide you with a completely new database.  Verify that you have all of the data by looking at your counts.

You should now be ready to time the race.
