We have been in ongoing communication with local authorities regarding Sunday morning’s Das Dreizehn.Eins. Based on all information currently available, the race is on.

Here’s what we do know: it will be cold.

Here’s what we don’t know: if, when, or how much precipitation we may see. Even local emergency weather professionals cannot give a definitive answer.

Because of this uncertainty, we are making the decision that is best for the event as a whole. You must make the decision that is best for you.

We will make a final determination on Saturday at 4:00 PM. At that time, we will:

Email all participants

Post on our social media platforms

Update the race website

Please note: This event will not be rescheduled. As many of you know, organizing a race requires months of advance planning and approvals from local authorities and businesses, with various funds paid in advance that are not refunded and can not be moved to another date. Additionally, other events are already scheduled and utilize the resources we would need.

We appreciate your understanding, really.

About

Silly name, serious fun. Das Dreizehn.Eins is German for “Yes, you want to run this race.” Just kidding — it’s actually German for “The 13 point 1.” But around here we just keep calling it DAS. Which is weird, because we’re basically saying, “Sign up for THE.” But then again, maybe that’s perfect — because this really is THE Race you don’t want to miss.

Why? Because we’re proud to show off New Braunfels — and this course takes you all over town with views you’ll remember long after your legs stop being sore.

And if the scenery isn’t enough, here’s what else you get:

Bag Check so your stuff stays safe while you conquer the miles

A beautiful and unique course through our hometown

Half Marathon Bonus Swag (because 13.1 deserves a little extra)

Delicious Refueling when you finish

Beer (prost!)

An Iced Tea Bar to cool you down, Texas-style

Finisher Medals that make your neck look fast

Das Dreizehn.Eins isn’t just another race — it’s Das Race. THE Race. Sign up, show up, and get ready to run New Braunfels in the most fun way possible.

There is a 4 hour time limit for the half marathon.

This journey will take you around the historic gazebo located in downtown New Braunfels before winding through Landa Park.  From there, you will not want to miss the scenic neighborhoods as you cross over the Guadalupe River and into our historic Gruene District.  Just when you thought it couldn't get better, your travels will take you across the Faust Street Bridge before venturing around the Guada Coma neighborhood, across the Comal River Bridge, and back to where it all started - Prince Solms Park.

Not up for the half marathon?  Come run the 5K instead and enjoy the downtown course and the beautiful Guada Coma district.

Parking

For the safety of the participants, there will be NO participant parking within Prince Solms Park.  There is some limited parking on Hinman Island drive.  Primary parking for the event will be in the Schlitterbahn parking lots.  The parking lots are across from the main Schlitterbahn entrance along LIberty street and a short walk from Prince Solms Park.  This will allow easy access to the park both before and after the event.  Thanks to Schlitterbahn for the use of their lots.  Here is a link to the park location.
