Get ready for 2025! More teams, more awards, more challenges! New this year: we will crown the King & Queen of the Hill (details below.)
In celebration of the great Howard Peak Greenway System, you and your team can cover 26.2 miles of this beautiful, scenic, shaded course that explores the many parks along the Leon and Salado creeks at the edge of the Texas Hill Country in San Antonio. You can have a minimum of 2 and up to 5 runners per team and there are several categories for you to compete against other teams. This is a point-to-point course and each leg of the marathon relay explores a different section of the Greenway trails. There are 5 Relay Legs and they range from 4.5 to 6.5 miles in length, so you will have to strategize on which of your runners to put on which leg.
The race starts at the McAllister Dog Park. The first relay handoff (Relay 1) is at Walker Ranch park. Relay 2 is at the1604 trailhead, Relay 3 is at The RIm Trailhead, and Relay 4 (the handoff to the last runner) is at the Fox Park trailhead. The race ends at the Mainland trailhead off Bandera road (parking available at Wal-Mart across the street) where a celebration and medals will be waiting for your team. Complete map and instructions will be provided to each team.
If you have never participated in a point-to-point relay before, you are in for quite the adventure. Part of the fun is making sure your runners get to their relay points on time and then meeting your last runner at the finish line to celebrate as a team. So pick your team carefully. Runners of all abilities are welcome. (Must be at least 14 years old to participate.)
This race SOLD OUT the last 2 years, so register early to secure your spot.
