The first running of the Got Your Back 5k was in 2014 to celebrate and provide support to Texas State Head Athletic Trainer, David Gish, as he fought a battle against cancer. David lost his battle, but we continue to run the race to honor David and support other families and Texas State Alumni as they fight against cancer.
Proceeds from the race support the David Gish Memorial Scholarship and students enrolled in the Texas State Master's in Athletic Training program.

9:15 A.M. Awards Ceremony
5k Run/Walk $25 (Shirts cannot be guaranteed if you register after April 3)
Sleepwalker (No chip time) $20 (Shirts cannot be guaranteed if you register after April 3)
Shirts cannot be guaranteed to late registrants.
In person 5k run/walk will begin and end at 5 Mile Dam Park, San Marcos, TX.
Address: 4440 Old Stagecoach Rd, San Marcos (Kyle), TX.
The event will occur rain or shine.
Parking: Enter 5 Mile Dam Park, follow the one-way road through the park until you reach the second parking lot on your right.
