The Canyon Cross Country team, along with the New Braunfels Running Club, is sponsoring a 5K on Saturday, June 30, 2012 in memory of Nolen Vargas. Nolen was a member of the Canyon High School Cross Country and Track teams and earned 8 letters in the sports. Nolen was tragically taken from us on July 3rd of 2011.
In Nolen's memory, a memorial scholarship was set up through the Cross Country Senior Class of 2011 at Canyon High School. This annual memorial run is to raise money for scholarship funds.
The run will start at 8:00am in Landa Park. Registration will take place online or at Picnic Area 11 on race morning beginning at 7:00am.
We are inviting anyone who likes to run to come and take part in this. If you aren't a runner and would just like to made a donation or cheer everyone on, please come and show your support.
