Description: |
Culinaria is a world-class experience that truly reflects the confluence of culture found in San Antonio. The mission of Culinaria is to promote San Antonio as a premier destination for wine and food while fostering community growth and enrichment. In keeping with the community’s focus on a healthy balance between eating and exercise, we added the 5K Wine & Beer Run in 2011. Not only does this event capitalize on the running boom we are experiencing in Texas, but it also specifically speaks to the lifestyle of our fitness minded demographic who work out in order to enjoy fine food and wine. |
About the Race: |
Participants run or walk through and around the mall while enjoying the view of the beautiful Texas Hill Country. This, alone, captures the attention of so many runners that are used to exercising on the typical streets and sidewalks of the city. If that was not enough to entice you, maybe having a post-race reception will be. Imagine, once you cross the finish line, you are greeted by the sights and sounds of celebration. The reception takes place immediately following the race and includes dishes prepared by some of San Antonio’s own chefs, along with wine, beer, entertainment, and the awards ceremony. |

Corrals: |
The Start Line corral system allows for a smooth race start for participants of varying levels. There will be four corrals on race day; (1) Competitive, (2) Runners, (3) Joggers, and (4) Walkers. Based on the estimated mile time you provided on your race entry form, we ask you to correspond with the appropriate corral number for the start of the race. If you are running with a baby stroller or jogger, please understand that you must report to the back of the starting line to avoid injury of other runners.

Culinaria Green Team: |
Culinaria's new task, the Culinaria Educational Center & Gardens, will promote healthy living in the city of San Antonio. Along with promoting good nutrition, the garden will inspire residents to become healthier through physical activity. The garden will also provide an important education tool in teaching community members about gardening, nutrition, and healthy living. It's the Culinaria way of giving back by investing in our community. So, what is your way of giving back? With a one-time donation of $100 along with your 5K Wine & Beer Run Registration Fee, you can be a member of the Culinaria Green Team! You will receive a special Culinaria Green Team t-shirt so everyone will recognize your special contribution and that you are giving back to your community in a great way. |
